Pricing FAQ
Do You Offer Packages?
Yes and we only bundle up what you really need: two pro photographers (that’s us), a huge album credit (so you can choose the album you like), high res negatives (with none of those silly waiting periods or extra fees), a private website to show off your images, true photographic proofs and it all comes wrapped up in a dazzling array of artistic, hand-finished processing techniques (aka our photoshop mojo). Have something else in mind? Something more? Just let us know and we'll make sure you get exactly what you want.
Tell Me About Artisan Photography?
We started Artisan for a lot of the same reasons that you’re getting married; we love each other very much and want to spend our days together (even in the literal kind of way). After our wedding, we lived a few months in Brazil (Andrea’s country of origin) and had too much fun hanging out all day, taking photos, surfing (poorly), wakeboarding (better) and just being together. We also wanted our work to have meaning, to be personal, genuine and valued, all of which were conspicuously lacking in corporate life.
Okay, Enough of the Philosophical and Mushy Stuff, Tell Us, Who is the REAL Photographer?
When you choose Artisan for your wedding, you get two REAL photographers. We *each* placed in the Top-10 of this years Professional Photographer's Association state competition and that means you get great images and more of them, from two different points of view. We each have our strengths, but years of shamelessly copying each other's good ideas has also woven a familiar look throughout our images.
So, What’s Your Style?
Anyone can bounce between Google and Roget’s Thesaurus, digging-up/making-up cool words to describe themselves, but really, what’s the point? Photos are Art. Art is subjective. We're most often given the "artistic" moniker and if our photos speak to you, great, if not, that’s fine too, keep looking until your photographer’s style is your style; the rest are just details.
Will Greg & Andrea be My Photographers?
You betcha. While we could make a lot more money splitting up and working ”lead” at different weddings, that’d be missing the whole point.
I don’t See a Lot of Traditional Posed Photos (aka the grip-n-grins), Will You Take These Too?
Of course, even though they’re, well, traditional, we know these are important to many in the family and we do them right. We also do them quickly, all the better to get to the party sooner.
Are You Expensive?
Photography is something that you can pay as much for, or as little as you like. For most of our clients, photography is very important to them and we love that, it's important to us too. We often see 10%-20% of the budget allocated to photography, but we've been 8% and 80% as well, there really aren't any rules of thumb.
The best answer is probably to just allocate your funds where they’re truly most important to you and don’t pay attention to rules, guides or anyone else (smile and nod your head, but do what you think is best). And remember, you can't show six year old shrimp cocktail to your kids.
How do You Keep Your Packages Affordable?
This is possible because Andrea does not actually pay Greg, she instead provides a small allowance, gourmet meals and weekly kitchen passes to play hockey with the boys. He is quite happy. (Note from Andrea: Please don’t mention the money thing to him, it's just not in the budget).
