Broccoli and the Diplomatic Boy

{Scene 1- Father attempts to get boy to eat broccoli, adds copious amounts of butter}

“Here you go, it’s a lot like green beans, you’ll really like it”

{Child grimaces slightly, looks to make sure father appears preoccupied and returns stalk to bowl, scrapes tongue against teeth, grimaces again}

“Daddy, I don’t really like this”

{Boy detects a slight look of disappointment in Father’s face, places hand lovingly on Father’s back}

“… but I really love your chicken”
